They Said No… Until They Saw the Boiler Quote

Real savings, real people, and why it’s never too late to switch.
“We’ve been with the same suppliers for years. It’s just easier.”
I’ve heard that sentence so many times - and I get it. Why rock the boat if things feel “fine”? That’s exactly what one couple told me when their daughter (a customer of mine) suggested they have a chat with me about switching.
They politely declined.
Twice.
They weren’t unhappy, just... comfortable. They assumed switching would be a faff, or that they might lose service - or just that it wouldn’t make enough difference to be worth it.
But then their boiler gave up. And suddenly, comfort cost a lot more than expected.
With quotes for the replacement coming in fast and their finances under pressure, they decided it might be time to revisit that idea of switching. A quick call later, and I was able to show them exactly what they were paying - and what they could be saving.
Let’s just say… their eyebrows went up. Quite a lot.
The Savings Were Eye-Opening
Without changing how they lived, used their appliances, or even touching a thermostat, we were able to reduce their bills by over £1,000 a year.
That’s not a typo.
They’d simply been overpaying - month in, month out - for years. And they weren’t alone. Most people I speak to are in the same boat. We’re taught to stay loyal to our providers, but the truth is, loyalty rarely pays in this industry.
Why It Was So Easy
They were surprised by how painless the switch was. No disruption. No awkward calls with their old provider. Everything handled behind the scenes.
“That was so much easier than we thought it would be.”
That’s one of my favourite things to hear. Because once people realise that switching isn’t scary - and that the savings are very real - it opens up options. In this couple’s case, they were able to take some of the pressure off and focus on what really mattered: getting their heating sorted, without tipping into financial stress.
Are You Overpaying Too?
If you’re reading this and thinking, “That sounds familiar" - it probably is. And if you’ve been putting it off because it sounds like hassle… maybe this is your nudge.
I don’t do hard sells. I just show you what’s possible and leave the decision with you. But if you are curious, I’d be more than happy to take a quick look at your current setup.
Who knows? You might just be sitting on your own £1,000 story.
